{OMIFA} A new perspective for aligning with what you want

Hi Reader,

And Happy February!

I was reading the NYT this week and came across the concept of Away/Towards Lists as a balm to resetting any resolutions that may have gotten off-track already. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I liked this concept a lot, which encourages reflecting on the question of what do I want to move away from, and what do I want to move towards this month.

For me, it's away from worry about "what if" and towards focusing on only what I know for certain right now.

It's away from filling my time with everyone else's stuff and towards more time for my stuff.

It's away from sitting so much and towards moving my body more.

It's away from planning what I'm going to write and towards actually writing. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I like this concept because it doesn't feel all or nothing to me. It's more like steps. One step away from one thing, and one step closer to another. It just feels more doable.

I'll check in on March 1 and see how it went. Maybe you'll try it too? If you do, let me know what you're moving away from and what you're moving towards. I'd love to know. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Last week was busy with a few time-consuming projects, so I bumped opening the Indie Fiction Author Marketing Momentum Membership to this week.

If you want to be the first to check it out (and get the best deal), jump on the waitlist here.โ€‹

Inside the IFAMMM, I'll be teaching a monthly marketing workshop, and I'd love to know which topics would be most helpful in increasing your readership and your book sales. I'll be sending out a poll tomorrow to ask you about it, and there will be prizes too, so keep a watch on your inbox, ok?

Have a great rest of your day!

Cheers,
Alicia

PS: We celebrated Lynn turning 20 on Friday with a fun lunch at a Japanese Steakhouse. Jack's Black Belt pre-test was postponed a day due to weather, but that weather left a stunning frosting of white everywhere. And he rocked his test the next day - so proud of both of them and all the ways in which they've grown into incredible humans. โค๏ธ

Hi Reader, I was working with a private client this week when something pinged for me. We were talking a bit about the current 'state of things' and it reminded me of something I did early into the pandemic when everything was so uncertain and unstable. I offered my most popular online course at Pay-What-You-Can pricing to help people out at least financially. And it really resonated. ๐Ÿ˜Š I've been listening to the indie author market for over a year now, and what I hear more than anything else...

Hi Reader, Last weekend it was snowing. Yesterday it was 81. ๐Ÿ™ƒ Today it's sunny and windy and heading to mid-50s here in New Hampshire ~ a nice day to celebrate Easter.
